She had spent the week at her friend's sister's condo, running a 15k race in her new 70+ age category, and having adventures like sea shell hunting. Though I wasn't so dead-on with his name. I was about to write his name with an N, but then hesistated. I asked my dad and he said it was with an M. So I made it Efraim. I went into the restroom to take a pic of it for you (the restaurant was too dark). Back at the table I asked our waiter about the spelling and he said it's with an N. So I made the M into an N. Dad noted that Efraim would be Hebrew. Ya, dad, but this is a Spanish restaurant. Anyway, I went back to the restroom and took another pic. Tues, Feb 28: #Orlando Dad asked what I wanted to do. #Celebration caught my eye on the map. I remembered it was some kind of perfect town built by Disney where you can actually live. I wanted to see that, because I'm always wondering where I would be happy living. Two friends texted that I should try @columbiarestaurant in Celebration. We drove down past all the touristy things and got to the town and missed the turn to the downtown where the restaurant is and drove the length of the town, but dad didn't get too mad cuz he was impressed with how nice the town looks. This pic is the heart of the downtown, with a lake, lined by restaurants, and in the back that's a lovely theatre. This town is so beautiful it pains me to look at it. I told my dad in the car on the way back that often I don't like seeing or doing things that I find extremely beautiful and wonderful, because it hurts my my stomach, because it makes me sad to get older and one day not have it. My dad didn't say anything to my comment. He probably just thinks I'm crazy. But anyway, maybe it's that I don't know how to fully enjoy the situation, so it frustrates me. I feel that way about beautiful medieval-style forests. About playing with my niece. And I think it's why I've broken up with the few women I've truly loved. So I'm not sure I could live in Celebration, even though it looks like a perfect place to go for a walk at night, to make friends at the baseball diamond, to join community groups, to sit at the coffee shops. Actually, it's because of those amazing things that I don't think I could stand it. I feel more comfortable in an ugly concrete city because it doesn't make me feel any joy. Tues, Feb 28: #Orlando I posted this photo at the time. But what I didn't know at the time was that I was being catfished! I was waiting at @bestwestern for a woman to come meet me. For months I'd been chatting with "Melinda Besselman", a nurse from Cincinnati. She told me she was going to be in Orlando until Thurs March 2 and I could stay in her hotel room. So the whole drive down, I was still trying to decide whether to get dropped in Orlando or #Miami. And I think I pursuaded dad to at least stop in Orlando. So we checked into the hotel and at 3:49pm Melinda said she'd come meet me at 4, or 4:30 at latest. Then at 5 she said she was still getting ready but she could meet me anywhere. Dad wanted to go out and do something. So we finally headed to the town of Celebration, which I wanted to see. I kept Melinda updated on the restaurant we were at. But she never replied again! It was only days later that it clicked - I'd been totally conned! So, new rule. I video chat with people soon after making contact online. Or, even better, I don't meet people online anymore. Unless they're celebrities. Whom I will meet on Raya, the dating app for celebrities and creative people. Which I will get on when I'm famous. Tues, Feb 28: At the #Florida Welcome Center, you get free orange and grapefruit juice. I chose grapefruit, to be different. But later my dad told me he had both! He's smarter than me. He says they made him take a new cup for each, instead of reusing one. I suggested it's probably a health code. He countered that the nozzle doesn't touch the cup.
