When I was in Ottawa with her a month ago, I recorded her doing an audition for a voice role, and she got the gig! It’s for a video to promote a school. I only remembered to film the recording session at the end. So she was already tired. And we switched from the little kid chair so she could be more comfortable. Last night’s nightly walk with my neighbor Kathleen ended in free @ihalokrunch ice cream courtesy of @bumble @bumble_canada for #nationalicecreamday! 🍦 But it was almost a fail. My new friend Leanne joined us. And first we went to @sobeys for my @h2rose assignment from @glambassadorofficial. We got to ihalo just before 10pm. Their Instagram says they were supposed to close at 9:30 PM, but I guess they were staying open later because there was a lineup. But when we got to the cashier, he said the free ice cream was only from 1pm-4pm. That reminded me that I had seen something about the time limit in the email, but it was a while ago and I just forwarded the email to Kathleen and didn’t look at it again and, well, we know how Kathleen is. 😜 I sat on an indoor bench at the back of ihalo and whined into my Instagram Story. Then I got up to leave and the girls followed me. And as we passed the cashier, he handed me a yellow ice cream in the Bumble cup. And he made 2 more for the girls. Monday, I interviewed Nadia, volunteer coordinator for @gotocarnival team @epic_carnival. Before the interview, the team was posing with the Toronto sign, and I took a selfie with them in the background. My neighbor Kathleen snapped me taking my selfie. And yes, I was using an umbrella to shield me from the sun. I actually got to the event and then went back home to get umbrellas for me and Kathleen and another one for Nadia if she wanted one. Even though last week my dad said it was ridiculous for me to be carrying an umbrella. I’ve decided I don’t care what other people think about how I Iook. And I’m not screwing around with the sun - Almost all skin aging is due to sun exposure. And it’s easier to be sheltered an umbrella than trying to have the right amount of hat and long sleeve and long pants coverage. I just wish I’d thought of this 2 years ago on my trip to Israel - I could’ve used my umbrella on the walk up Masada, I could’ve floated as long as I wanted in the Dead Sea, and I could even have avoided getting burnt during my 5 minutes in the ocean. On Monday night in my Instagram Story, I mused about stopping my daily vlogs in my Story, because my sister says it’s a waste of time and that I look pathetic when I talk about my personal struggles and flaws. She’s probably right! Plus, it does use up a lot of brain energy that I should be using elsewhere. But then this guy replied to my Story with this message of support.
